Shelving his hard-earned Georgetown law degree, he set out to tackle an unaddressed problem in health care: how to successfully engage patients and families in the care process.

As head of the O’Neil Center, the patient engagement industry’s first “think tank,” she oversees research and efforts to help health care providers translate patient and family engagement theory into practice.
