As with most years in healthcare, 2024 was full of complexities and change, with even more on the horizon. The industry has rebounded from the pandemic but many things will never be the same. Workforce shortages endured, yet virtual care and artificial intelligence were cemented and trialed respectively, and it is clear that both will permanently reshape the mix of humans and technology in care delivery. New models are taking shape that will increase personalization and lower costs. EMRs continued to promote capabilities that bring it all together, yet patients grew increasingly frustrated, disengaged and bewildered when filling out simple forms repeatedly, deciphering non-intuitive data in their portals, finding a timely appointment, and navigating the healthcare ecosystem among providers, payers, and the pharmacy to pick up their increasingly expensive medications. The need to augment EMRs with best in class solutions remains as patients demand consumer grade digital experiences in healthcare.
Healthcare is hard and 2024 exposed severe cracks in the system we have built and its impact on the patients we are all trying to serve with effectiveness, efficiency, and dignity. Transformation is being demanded by patients and clinicians alike.
But as I reflect on the year behind us at Get Well, hope and gratitude remain strong. I am reminded of the progress we made, rounding out a monumental year of foundational work and growth alongside our client partners. Brick by brick, we continued to push the boundaries in whole-health patient engagement, building upon our Get Well 360 platform, designed for every step of the patient journey.
We are grateful for the increasing engagement and partnership within our industry. I was so proud to see Get Well launch our first ever Nurse Executive Council, convening 23 nurse leaders from across the US to discuss and innovate patient care through technology and the role of the digital-first nurse.
In July of this year, Get Well joined SAIGroup, ushering in a new era for us. The enterprise data and AI capabilities of SAIGroup will accelerate our innovation roadmap and transform how healthcare providers care for and interact with patients. We’ve begun to lay the foundation to build an always-on companion and care navigator embedded in the patient journey—inside and outside the hospital. Launching in the spring of 2025, Get Well PatientIntelligence™ will foster a new level of continual “digital intimacy” with patients and members on behalf of providers and payers.
In addition to the expertise that SAIGroup brings to Get Well, I was excited to welcome our first-ever corporate Advisory Board. This inspiring group of healthcare leaders came together in November to help accelerate our delivery of personalized care for all. I am thankful to each of them for taking time to shape our roadmap and future, and I’m excited for the new capabilities we will unlock together.
I’m also incredibly proud of the impact and recognition that our Health Equity solutions achieved this year. In 2024, we set our sights not only upon serving health systems, but we also expanded into programs that meet the health equity needs of payers. The outcomes we’re seeing for our SDOH Screening & Navigation, Maternal Health Equity, and Youth Mental Health programs continue to validate that the combination of high-tech and high-touch is most effective in meeting patients where they are, and navigating them to essential resources needed to remove care access barriers. We are excited to announce our first health plan partner in the new year, and most notably, our partnership with UMass Memorial Health expanded as they adopted Get Well’s SDOH Screening and Navigation program. Launched in April, UMass teams more than doubled their all-time record of patients screened and shared over 5,000 resources with at-risk patients, including food, transportation, housing, and utilities in the first month following launch.
We are honored to serve government healthcare, supporting the veteran and active-duty member experiences with the Veterans Health Administration and the Defense Health Agency. It was a milestone moment for us to deploy our point of care solutions in the GovCloud for the first time, working with the dedicated staff of VISN4’s sites of care. We look forward to continuing to partner with our government clients to support their digital transformation initiatives.
Our teams work hard and with a sense of purpose and mission, which is why receiving industry recognition for our solutions is so meaningful – it signals that we have charted the right course within patient experience and do our utmost to protect our valued clients. We achieved the prestigious FedRAMP authorized designation at the Moderate security level, and were recognized as one of the Top 10 Information Security Teams in the World by the OnCon Icon Awards, acknowledging our rigorous security practices. Get Well was also recognized for several of our health system solutions including the #1 Market Leader for Patient Driven Care Management by KLAS and named to AVIA Marketplace’s 2024 top lists for Smart Rooms, Conversational AI, Patient Education, and Remote Monitoring companies. Our Health Equity programs were selected by KLAS for Points of Light Case Study awards, and we also won the Outstanding DEI Initiative in Patient Care by Fierce Healthcare.
As we look forward to 2025 and our 25th anniversary year, we are excited to celebrate how far we’ve come, and usher in a new dawn of patient engagement innovation. We cannot wait to welcome industry leaders to Washington, DC for Get Connected 2025 in May, our first hosted conference in five years! We’re grateful for the clients and partners who have been with us on this incredible journey from the early aughts to those who have just joined us this year. While much of Get Well looks very different from the year 2000, our north star has always remained the same. We remain committed to you, your patients, and your communities.
Let’s get to work.
