Our organization is led by a dynamic group of individuals, each bringing their
expertise to build on our strategic vision. Representatives of our senior leadership
team include:
Michael O'Neil, Jr.
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Michael O’Neil was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at the age of
28 in April of 1999. After stomach surgery to remove the tumor and four cycles
of chemotherapy at Johns Hopkins Hospital, he immediately began building GetWellNetwork®.
Previously, O’Neil spent six years working at New York and Boston advertising
agencies, developing brand strategies and managing multi-million dollar
marketing campaigns. O’Neil gained recognition in strategic positioning
and brand launches, and Deutsch, Inc. named him the youngest account supervisor
in 1995.
While in graduate school, O’Neil consulted with Lost Wax Media in London,
England on the market positioning, financing and launch of a B2B exchange in 1998.
He also conducted an extensive e-commerce study of the top 50 retail Web sites
in 1999 for iXL, Inc. in Atlanta.
Currently, O’Neil is an adjunct professor in the MBA program at Georgetown
University’s McDonough School of Business. He is a member of Mindshare,
a forum of CEOs from leading early-stage technology and life sciences companies
in the Greater Washington Metropolitan region. O’Neil also serves on the
steering committee of Northern Virginia Healthcare Workforce Alliance, an organization
of business, healthcare and education leaders seeking innovative solutions to
address the workforce shortage.
O’Neil received a B.A. with honors from the University of Notre Dame
and a JD/MBA from Georgetown University. O’Neil lives in Chevy Chase,
MD with his wife Wendy and their daughters Calla and Ava.

David Wright
Chief Outcomes Officer
David Wright brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare and hospital
leadership to GetWellNetwork and our client hospitals. Prior to joining the organization,
Wright spent 13 years as the lead marketing, strategy and business development
executive for the Inova Health System, one of the top integrated and largest health
systems on the eastern seaboard.
Wright’s role is principally centered on assisting our clients achieve their desired outcomes. He often serves in a consultative
capacity to our clients, combining his experience and knowledge of hospital strategy
and operations with the capabilities of the GetWellNetwork system to ensure that
each hospital is receiving maximum value from the interactive platform.
Greater Washington universities recognize Wright as an outstanding preceptor
and adjunct faculty member. Wright has received numerous awards for communications,
advertising, public relations, health care strategy and marketing excellence including
the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) national marketing excellence
award.
Wright has a B.S. degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University
and a Masters degree in public health with an emphasis in health care administration
from the University of California, Los Angeles. Wright lives in Northern Virginia
with his wife Ruth and their three children.

Robin Cavanaugh
Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer
Robin Cavanaugh joined GetWellNetwork in 2001 and leads the teams responsible for research and development.
Cavanaugh’s experience in software development began in the late 1980s
when he brought Internet and process management technology to several government
agencies including the Department of Health and Human Services. He also provided
the technical leadership to a small consulting firm by spearheading the development
of a genetic HLA typing database to facilitate matching of tissue samples from
donors to recipients. Cavanaugh also created document imaging and indexing software
for grant preparation and submission, and established a system applications and
process design for the Center for Mental Health Services.
Leaving the public sector, Cavanaugh moved to a growing software consulting
firm, iXL, Inc./Scient, where he provided services to several Fortune 500 companies,
including Monsanto, Dupont and General Electric. His role expanded with the growing
company to Vice President of Engineering – eventually leading 50+ engineers
as they continued to execute on projects for numerous clients.
A fortuitous introduction to GetWellNetwork yielded the opportunity to lead
the charge on the development of a new platform that would change the way that
patients experience healthcare. Having brought the product from prototype to production,
and overseen numerous successful implementations, his focus is now on the future technical direction of the company.
Cavanaugh holds a DEC in Pure and Applied Sciences from John Abott College,
Quebec, Canada. He lives in Silver Spring, MD with his wife Marina and their daughter
Catherine Jane.

Bruce Matter
Executive Vice President, Sales
Bruce Matter joined GetWellNetwork in 2005 to build a team of seasoned sales
professionals to expand strategic partnerships between the company and leading
health systems in the United States. He brings more than 25 years of experience
in information systems and technology, with the majority of those years at IBM,
followed by executive positions at Cerner and McKesson.
Most recently, Matter was the Senior Vice President, Executive Relations for
Eclipsys where he was responsible for creating and expanding the relationships
and visibility of Eclipsys executives with the CEOs/executives of the company’s
customers, prospects and industry organizations. Also in his tenure at Eclipsys,
Matter held a series of executive roles including Senior Vice President of Marketing
Operations as well as Regional President of Eclipsys’ Mid-America Region
where he managed sales and business activity throughout the region.
Prior to Eclipsys, Matter was President and CEO of an Internet security company,
providing vulnerability and technical architecture assessments, intrusion detection
and 24/7 managed-services solutions.
Matter holds a B.S. in Business from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar,
Missouri. He lives in Kansas City with his wife Deb and their daughter Megan.

Irwin Studen
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Irwin Studen joined GetWellNetwork as Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. With extensive experience in the healthcare and technology industries, Studen oversees and manages financial operations for GetWellNetwork.
Prior to joining GetWellNetwork, Studen consulted with a portfolio company of GTCR Golder Rauner, LLC, a $9 billion private equity firm, where he assisted with mergers & acquisitions in healthcare IT. In this capacity, Studen managed the process of identifying and qualifying $50-$500 million revenue targets and developing the modeling, valuation, financing and due diligence of such opportunities.
Previously, Studen was Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of SXC Health Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:SXCI; TSX, SXC), a leading provider of software systems and ASP solutions to the managed care and pharmacy benefit management industries headquartered in Chicago and Toronto. In his capacity as CFO, Studen was responsible for all accounting/finance, administrative, corporate development and investor relations activities and helped grow the company over a five year period from a $40 million to more than $400 million market capitalization through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions.
Studen has also held a number of full-time and interim CFO assignments with public and private companies, including Wireless Matrix, (TSX:WRX), a leading provider of mobile resource management solutions, Marketswitch Corporation, a provider of offer optimization software solutions sold to Experian and CoStar Group (Nasdaq:CSGP), the leading provider of commercial real estate information to the brokerage industry.
Studen holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the Columbia School of Engineering & Applied Science. Studen lives in Reston, VA with his wife and two daughters.

Philip Groves
Senior Vice President, Client Services and Support
Philip Groves joined GetWellNetwork as the Senior Vice President, Client Services and Support. Bringing more than 20 years of healthcare technology experience, Groves is responsible for leading the company’s client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction while achieving strategic objectives.
Groves joins GetWellNetwork from Skylight Healthcare Systems in San Diego, CA where he built and led their sales team over the past three years. Prior to Skylight, Groves spent more than ten years at Cerner Corporation where he served as Vice President and General Manager of Cerner Clinical Centers, a $240 million division where he managed a 200-person organization responsible for Cerner’s laboratory, radiology, cardiology, emergency, and surgery enterprises. Groves has also held positions at Thazar Solutions Corporation and OmniCell Technologies, Inc.
Groves holds a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Michigan. He lives in Mission Hills, KS.

Stephen Hiscott
Senior Vice President, Business Development
Stephen Hiscott brings to GetWellNetwork more than fifteen years of healthcare strategy, marketing and business development experience, serving in leadership roles with such companies as Ernst & Young Consulting, Beverly Healthcare and The Advisory Board Company. At GetWellNetwork, Hiscott is responsible for leading the company’s business development efforts.
Prior to GetWellNetwork, Hiscott served as Managing Director and Founding Partner for The InPractice Group, an innovative professional services and technology firm focused on strategy execution and workflow management. As Founding Partner, Hiscott was responsible for formalizing market positioning and strategic growth plans, successfully creating a scalable foundation of clients.
Prior to The InPractice Group, Hiscott served in several leadership roles for The Advisory Board Company, where he was instrumental in launching the H*Works consulting business, Compass business intelligence group, and Academies executive education franchise, substantially expanding the scope of services for clients and driving revenue growth that enabled a successful public offering. Prior to The Advisory Board Company, Hiscott served clients in Ernst and Young’s healthcare strategy consulting practice, developing critical strategic growth plans for regional health systems, physician groups and international payers.
Hiscott received his B.A. degree in Industrial Relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his M.B.A. from The Kellogg School at Northwestern University. He lives in Falls Church, VA with his wife Debbie Schantz-Hiscott and their three daughters.

John Plunkett
Vice President, Marketing
As the Vice President of Marketing, John Plunkett joined GetWellNetwork in 2004 to develop and implement strategies to accelerate the company’s market leadership position. Bringing more than 12 years of strategic marketing experience, Plunkett oversees brand and identity, lead generation, marketing communications, public relations, customer marketing activities, events, Web marketing and industry analyst relations.
Most recently, Plunkett served as Senior Director, Planning and Analysis for Blackboard Inc. (BBBB), a leading provider of enterprise software and related services to the education industry. In this role, Plunkett held responsibility for market planning and analysis at the corporate level as well as in all targeted markets, developing strategic integrated marketing plans, budget management, and market research. Through his tenure at Blackboard, Plunkett also helped introduce the growing Blackboard brand to overseas markets, establishing the Blackboard brand, sales support, and user communities in Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America.
Prior to Blackboard Inc., Plunkett served in various positions at Arnold Worldwide, an internationally recognized advertising and communications firm where he worked on notable accounts including SAP America, ExxonMobil, and Cable and Wireless.
Plunkett is a graduate of Furman University with a B.A. degree in Political Science. He lives in Arlington, VA with his wife Dana and their daughter.
