Digital tools that keep health equity top of mind make a difference

How patient engagement tools that prioritize health equity helped provide critical information during the COVID-19 pandemic

During the early weeks and months of the COVID-19 pandemic, health systems faced unprecedented challenges: unpredictable inpatient volumes; quickly changing environments; the sudden demand for virtual care; and challenges related to eligibility and tracking.

Resources that incorporated plain language and focused on health equity were vital to helping inform and engage patients. Facilities also needed a way to remotely monitor and manage COVID-19 symptoms at scale — and quickly.

In this case study, learn how GetWellNetwork helped reduce office visits and drive higher patient engagement among Black and African-American patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"As COVID-19 emerged, we faced a lot of unknowns and challenges, including our ability to continue to monitor the health and well-being of our patients during this pandemic. I was pleased to join the GetWell Loop Clinical Advisory Committee to help develop COVID messages that would effectively communicate information to help our patients, particularly patients in our African-American communities where we saw high levels of COVID infection."
