GetWellNetwork CIO David Muntz Receives CHIME Board of Trustees Legacy Award

Bethesda, Md., Nov. 3, 2014 – GetWellNetwork®, Inc., the leader in Interactive Patient Care™ (IPC) solutions, today announced that SVP & CIO David Muntz, CHCIO, FCHIME, LCHIME, FHIMSS, recently received the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) Board of Trustees Legacy Award. Muntz was recognized at the CHIME14 Fall CIO Forum held in San Antonio, Texas.

The CHIME Board of Trustees Legacy Award honors an individual’s government service, dedication and commitment to the industry, and collaboration with CHIME to further health information technology (HIT) initiatives and improve policies. Prior to joining GetWellNetwork, Muntz was appointed by the White House to serve as the first principal deputy national coordinator and chief of staff of the Office of the National Coordinator on Health Information Technology (ONC).

“David Muntz has shown outstanding dedication during his 18 years as a CHIME member,” said CHIME Board Chair Randy McCleese, FCHIME, CHCIO. “He has served on the Board of Trustees and has been a major contributor to CHIME’s public policy initiatives through CHIME’s Policy Steering Committee. While at ONC, David provided federal rule makers a practical sense of what it’s like to be a CIO during these turbulent times.”

CHIME is the premiere professional organization for chief information officers and other senior health care IT leaders. The CHIME14 Fall CIO Forum focused on advancing the use of HIT to improve the delivery of health care.

“David’s leadership and expertise continue to shape the way technology advances care for patients and families,” said Michael O’Neil, founder and CEO of GetWellNetwork. “For me and for our GetWellNetwork community, this recognition of David is humbling and exciting – not only for his legacy of achievement, but for the exceptional impact he is making on the future of health care.”
