GetWellNetwork Achieves Meaningful Use Certification for Ambulatory Solution

GetWellNetwork Ambulatory ONC-ACB-certified for 2014 edition patient-specific education module

Bethesda, Md., Dec. 15, 2014 – GetWellNetwork®, Inc., the leader in Interactive Patient Care™ (IPC) solutions, today announced it has achieved certification for GetWellNetwork Ambulatory™ under the Drummond Group’s Electronic Health Records (EHR) Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. The software is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

“The certification of GetWellNetwork Ambulatory further extends the value of IPC across the care continuum,” said David Muntz, senior vice president and chief information officer at GetWellNetwork. “In addition to creating a more engaging, meaningful and productive encounter for patients and clinicians, our SaaS solution enables providers to deliver and document relevant education for compliance with policy imperatives.”

GetWellNetwork Ambulatory, which met the requirements for ONC-ACB 2014 Edition Modular EHR Certification, engages patients in their care, streamlining and documenting patient education for improved outcomes and organizational efficiency. The IPC solution receives both manual and automatically generated orders from an EHR and assigns relevant, patient-specific education to enable patients to take a more active role in their health. Health systems and ambulatory-based practices can include GetWellNetwork’s Modular Certification in their meaningful use attestation to meet or help meet requirements for patient-specific education. GetWellNetwork’s inpatient solution was also certified for the patient-specific education module in July 2014.

Drummond Group’s ONC-ACB certification program certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, health care providers using the technology of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology – a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. health care providers.

There is a cost for the GetWellNetwork core system, which includes a one-time implementation & hardware expense and an annual subscription fee.

An EHR integration is required in order to implement this certified product. A one-time cost may be required to establish the interfaces for transmitting relevant EHR codes to the GetWellNetwork system for the purposes of meeting the Patient Specific Education requirements (170.314(a)(15); 170.314(g)(1,4)).

If the request is made to utilize additional or alternate education resources within this certified product-version, they may require additional annual subscription fee(s) to outside vendors. This includes additional/alternate education content for InfoButton resources as well as educational content that fall outside the GetWellNetwork core package.

This EHR Module is 2014 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.
