Meaningful Use

Costs and Limitations

GetWell Inpatient PLS 7.0 has met the requirements for ONC-ACB 2014 Edition Modular Inpatient EHR Certification which engages patients in their care and streamlines clinical workflows in the acute setting, leading to improved outcomes in patient satisfaction, health and safety, and finance and operations. The IPC solution receives both manual and automatically generated orders from an EHR and assigns relevant, patient-specific education to enable patients and their families to take a more active role in their health. Hospitals can include GetWellNetwork’s Modular Certification in their meaningful use attestation to meet or help meet requirements for patient-specific Education.

Drummond Group’s ONC-ACB certification program certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, health care providers using the technology of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology – a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. health care providers.

To learn more about meaningful use and how GetWellNetwork can help hospitals and providers meet the Meaningful Use requirements for patient specific education, please contact your GetWellNetwork representative.

There is an initial cost for the GetWellNetwork core system, which includes a one-time implementation fee & hardware expense and an annual subscription fee based on the negotiated contract price.

An EHR integration is required in order to implement this certified product. A one-time cost may be required to establish the interfaces for transmitting relevant EHR codes, such as Problem, Medication and Lab codes, to the GetWellNetwork system for the purposes of identifying and assigning Patient Specific Education to each eligible patient.(170.314(a)(15); 170.314(g)(1,4)). If a request is made by the hospital or clinic to utilize additional or alternate education resources within this certified product-version, a third party education vendor may require additional annual subscription fee(s). These fees would be paid by the client and made directly to the third party education vendor. This includes additional/alternate education content for InfoButton resources as well as educational content that fall outside the GetWellNetwork core package.

Additional or alternate education resources are not required to use the GetWellNetwork certified product for Patient Specific Education.
