Patient Education Library
exclusively for the GetWellNetwork Client Community
Review, select and license patient education materials from industry leading content developers.
Healthcare providers are facing increasing pressure from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as well as the National Patient Safety Guidelines from The Joint Commission to comply with requirements to educate patients throughout a hospital stay and at discharge. Similarly, initiatives set forth by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) underscore the importance of patient education as a means for improving the quality of care.
The GetWellNetwork® PatientLife System® enables hospitals to effectively deliver education materials to patients through the in-room television. Although the system includes a valuable library of general health videos, as your partner we understand that your hospital has a unique set of requirements when it comes to selecting education content for your patients.
Introducing the GetWellNetwork Patient Education Library
The GetWellNetwork Patient Education LibrarySM is an innovative service exclusively for GetWellNetwork clients that streamlines your ability to review, select and license patient education materials from industry leading content developers.
Designed for health educators, nurses and other interdisciplinary teams, the GetWellNetwork Patient Education Library provides a virtual “one-stop-shop” to review quality, evidence-based content that can be made available to patients through the GetWellNetwork PatientLife System. By accessing the library, your hospital will be able to determine which offering is preferred for your organization, request to license the content, and have the materials uploaded to your GetWellNetwork system.
Content Selectively Reviewed
To be included in the library, the content must meet six requirements, including: (1) evidence and behavior focused, (2) basic literacy needs, (3) effective use of graphics, (4) stimulating and motivating to view, (5) positive cultural images, and (6) aligns with current caregiver practices. In addition, the content must engage patients as an important member of their own care team, as well as use effective teaching methods for a variety of learners.
