PatientCommunication:)Suite enables all members of a care team, including the patient, to communicate to each other during the patient’s hospital stay – enhancing service excellence efforts. The suite includes the following functionality:

Survey helps you stay informed of your patients' opinions. As part of an ongoing patient response program, the survey tool enables you to analyze patient feedback on service delivery, satisfaction and more. Or, use the functionality to conduct quick-response surveys to develop new service offerings. Users complete the patient response survey using the remote control or keyboard and responses are available to authorized users in real-time via a Web browser.

Instant Response lets your appropriate staff member immediately respond to a service related issue or concern (i.e., room temperature, housekeeping need, etc.). The patient request is automatically routed to the appropriate hospital personnel via a variety of notification methods, including alphanumeric page and/or email freeing nurses from many non-clinical service issues. Notifications can simply include the room number of the patient that initiated the page along with the specific concern or can contain detailed summaries of the information collected.

Staff Recognition provides a way for patients to recognize hospital employees who exhibit exemplary patient care and a commitment to service excellence. Once a patient enters their comments, the feedback is monitored real-time by the hospital which enables them to reward outstanding effort.

Event Manager provides a way to showcase scrolling hospital information via
a designated television channel and/or a lobby video display panel. Examples of information that is typically displayed include: current or upcoming hospital events, employee information, visitor information, television channel guide, promotions, etc.

Email provides enhanced communication capabilities to your patients by offering the creation and use of a hospital-based email address during their hospital stay. The system enables the hospital to monitor email activity and usage. Through a proprietary email interface, users can create new email accounts (userID@getwellnetwork.tv, by default) and access the accounts throughout their hospital stay.

Instant Messaging enables patients to directly connect with their family and friends. Using the wireless keyboards patients can interact in realtime with their family and friends without having to send email. (In development).

Alerts sends automatic announcements to patients to notify them of important information such as pending fi re alarms, cafeteria closings, or gift shop offerings. Instantly notify patients on a global, unit, or personal level with the GWN crawl message across the bottom of the television screen. Alerts can be scheduled for special events, service recovery and important information alerts on demand.

Comments enables patients to provide free text feedback at any time during their hospital stay.

Patient Admission Pathway enables hospitals to automatically trigger a series of events based on patient admission that help to orient patients with their room, hospital services, caregiver information, and more.

Patient Satisfaction Pathway allows hospitals to automatically administer patient response surveys to patients at specified points throughout their stay without relying on staff interaction or worrying about over burdening the patients with multiple requests. Triggered by the patient admission, the pathway will wait until a hospital-specified time and gently interrupt the patient and request feedback. After a number of gentle requests without a response, the system can notify the appropriate staff member to manually intervene. Documentation of the patient response survey records are automatically stored by the system.
