PatientCare:)Suite™

PatientCare:)Suite enables nurses and physicians to inform and care for the specific needs of individual patients during their hospital stay while providing administrators with documentation tools to aid regulatory compliance efforts. The suite includes the following functionality:

Patient Safety maximizes the hospital’s patient safety education resources by providing patients direct access to safety videos, relevant web sites and information about JCAHO’s national Speak Up™! Initiative. (May require additional content licensing).

Education uses hospital objective measures to inform, assess and record patient education activity. The system can provide a host of patient educational material including video, Web-based and text-based content. When the patient watches a prescribed video, or finishes reading text-based material, the system can automatically prompt the patient to complete a comprehension assessment. Furthermore, the results of the assessment can be integrated with the existing electronic medical record. GetWellNetwork® has relationships with many content providers and will assist in securing content licenses as well as digitizing any existing content that the hospital possesses.

Dietary gives both patients and visitors the ability to order customized meals
with various course selections created through the hospital meal planning administration tool. The Hospital Diet Office is notified of a hospital meal planningorder by print-out, email or pager alert.Patient meals are integrated with his/her diet order. The system offersvariable eal prices based on menu selections and accepts both credit cards and gift cards as forms of payment. (May require additional integration services).

Pain Management offers interactive patient pain monitoring, utilizes Donna Wong’s “Wong Baker FACES Pain Rating Scale” to assess and facilitate effective medical administration for both children and adults. Patients utilize interactive patient pain monitoring by inputting their current pain level, which is then documented by the system. The automated pain monitoring function can then send an instant alert to notify the appropriate clinical staff member, should the response exceed a defined pain threshold.

Patient Profile enables nurses or administrators to view details about a patient’s care including education session results, comprehension question responses, survey responses, acknowledgement of hospital disclaimers and consent forms. In addition, GetWellNetwork system utilization is available, including movies watched, email account access, preferences, purchases, etc.

Pain Management Pathway triggers when a patient receives medication (through interfaces with HIS systems, or via nurse interaction). The Pain Management Pathway prompts the patient to assess their pain level after a hospital dictated time period has elapsed. The rating process not only includes the documentation of current level of pain, but also provides the patient with the option to receive additional resources that the hospital feels assist in pain management such as relaxation video content, exercises, or the direction to pain management content sites. The Pathway can also be set to re-assess pain several times, as well as provide immediate notification to the appropriate person should the pain assessment not be received, or if it falls outside of the defined thresholds.

Patient Education Pathway enables caregivers to coordinate an individual patient’s education needs by automatically prompting a patient to view a prescribed video, complete required assessment questions, report the results back to the caregiver, and more.

Patient Safety Pathway ensures that patient safety begins with education. Informing patients on hospital procedures and policies surrounding the use of their room and interaction with caregivers is critical for effective care as well as required by several accrediting organizations. The Patient Safety Pathway assists in this process by ensuring that every patient receives safety education by viewing the hospital safety content in their room, when they are ready to receive it. Patient Safety Pathway enables patient safety education tracking by notifying caregivers when a patient does not receive the patient safety education and documenting patient comprehension and completion of safety education in their profile. Patient Safety Pathway can lock down less important services such as television or Web browsing until the patient complies with the patient safety education requirements dictated by the hospital.
