Improving Outcomes and Patient Care Experience Fuels Demand for GetWellNetwork

BETHESDA, MD. – February 14, 2011 – GetWellNetwork, Inc., the leader in Interactive Patient Care solutions, today announced a record number of new contracts, upgrades and expansions with premier hospitals. GetWellNetwork, recently recognized by KLAS® as the category leader in the interactive patient systems category, was chosen for its proven ability to raise HCAHPS and Press Ganey scores, improve patient education processes, and enhance patient safety.

In addition, since the launch of GetWell Town™ in 2009, the company continues to gain significant traction with leading pediatric hospitals for its innovative approach to teaching young patients and families about their health.

Hospitals that have recently purchased the GetWellNetwork solution or have expanded their interactive patient care projects include:

  • Children’s Hospital Los Angeles - Los Angeles, Calif.
  • All Children’s Hospital - St. Petersburg, Fla.
  • Nationwide Children’s Hospital - Columbus, Ohio.
  • Hasbro Children’s Hospital - Providence, R.I.
  • University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital - Minneapolis, Minn.
  • Carroll Hospital Center - Mount Airy, Md.
  • Florida Hospital Celebration Health - Celebration, Fla.
  • Children’s Hospital of Alabama – Birmingham, Ala.
  • Princeton University Medical Center - Princeton, N.J.
  • Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center - Lafayette, La.
  • Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center - Baton Rouge, La.

“At Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, the decision to leverage and expand our GetWellNetwork project is a critical step in meeting two key care elements - Pain Assessment and Discharge Planning - both of which will help us deliver superior care for our patients and their families,” said Dr. Lori Marshall, PhD, MSN, RN at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. “We are excited to have these impressive tools to support focused improvements in throughput and work efficiency.”

“GetWellNetwork’s digital patient care platform will enhance the efficiency of key patient care processes such as patient education and documentation to our electronic medical record system,” said Stephanie Reid, Chief Nursing Officer, Carroll Hospital Center.  “In addition, GetWellNetwork will also help us engage our patients in their care process and encourage them to communicate with us frequently using GetWellNetwork at their bedside.”

“Hasbro Children’s Hospital is very excited that GetWell Town will soon be implemented in each of our patient rooms to help us increase patient safety, education and overall experience for the children in our care and their families,” said Myra Edens, Administrative Director of Pediatric Patient Services at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. “With GetWellNetwork partnering with us, we look forward to improving the efficiency and quality of patient care.”

“It’s exciting to see such momentum for our patient solutions and we are honored to work with these dedicated leaders  who are committed to partnering with us to make a difference every day in the lives of their patients,” said Michael O’Neil, CEO and founder of GetWellNetwork, Inc.
