New, easy-to-use touchscreen to improve patient and caregiver satisfaction, while nettop provides hospitals with new ergonomic hardware option

BETHESDA, MD. – July 28, 2011 – GetWellNetwork, Inc., provider of the industry's leading interactive patient care (IPC) solution, today announced the addition of two new technologies providing hospitals with higher performing, eco-friendly hardware options. With 4.6 million patient interactions annually and over 10 years of experience, GetWellNetwork has a proven understanding of patient engagement and hospital environmental needs, and continues to leverage technology innovations and produce products that further improve both the patient experience and healthcare facility outcomes.

“GetWellNetwork is continually evaluating new technologies so that we can leverage the best available hardware and software systems to evolve and further innovate our portfolio for the benefit of the patient experience and hospital outcomes,” said Robin Cavanaugh, CTO, GetWellNetwork, Inc. “We understand the needs of the IPC market and are committed to taking a patient-centric approach, engaging patients throughout the patient journey, and empowering them to be more actively engaged in their own care.”

As the leader in interactive patient care technology, the company offers healthcare facilities highly personalized patient engagement and education solutions that are constantly evolving alongside the evolution of the healthcare landscape. New technologies that are now available include the latest nettop computer and an Advantech 17-inch LCD touchscreen monitor. As are all GetWellNetwork products, these new components have been tested in the GetWellNetwork Technology Lab to ensure they meet the rigorous standards and needs of the 24/7/365 healthcare setting as well as all technical and functional requirements of GetWellNetwork solutions including GetWell Town, GetWellNetwork for Seniors and GetWell@Home.

Multi-function Touchscreen
Advantech monitors provide hospitals with an easy-to-clean, ergonomic design and multi-functional capabilities including memory, processing and networking, as well as privacy speakers and a built-in bedside camera for patients. The monitor also has patient accessible device ports, allowing the patient to easily plug in devices and headphones, bringing the comfort of home to the hospital. The PIT-1702, 17” touchscreen terminal provides all the memory, processing, and networking capabilities required to deliver interactive patient care at the bedside and complies with EN60601-1 certification, a widely accepted benchmark for electronic medical equipment.

Discreet, Low Power Nettop
The new nettop console, which is priced 30 percent lower than the previous desktop class device, is a high performing yet low-wattage, eco-friendly computer, ideal for running GetWellNetwork solutions in patient rooms. It combines a powerful graphics processor with a modern, small form factor that mounts directly on the wall or to the monitor. In addition to high performance, the console boasts an ergonomic, slim profile and silent operation allowing for discreet, versatile installation to a wall or the back of the television.
