Hardware

GetWellNetwork® is committed to bringing its solutions to patients and their families, wherever they might be located – which often is not isolated to a patient room. Consequently, we believe that our solutions need to perform on any display device that a hospital desires ranging from 15 year old Zenith televisions to 42" LCDs as well as touch-screens, tablets and kiosks.

This approach allows us to create a cohesive, personalized experience throughout a single facility leveraging the hardware investment a hospital has already made. For example, our solution is currently being utilized by clients not only in patient rooms, but also in outpatient areas, staff lounges, common areas, lobbies and even elevators. Being tied to a single device is expensive and confining. Our flexibility allows us to get the application to more people quickly and to upgrade hardware/monitors as your budgets become available.

The GetWellNetwork solution includes all the necessary hardware to support a complete interactive patient care experience. Specifically, each installation includes a combination of a head-end unit to run the system, as well as in-room equipment for patients’ use.

Head-End

The head-end unit is composed of high performance servers designed to support application and database services, private networking, firewall protection, remote access monitoring and system maintenance services. The system also provides support for redundant power supply and surge protection and is all housed in one complete full height, high-density rack unit.

Patient-Room

Each display device (i.e., television monitor) is equipped with a digital set-top box that acts as a controller and conduit between the GetWellNetwork Head-End Hardware and the display device. Patients and other end users access the system via our pillow-speaker and accompanying keyboard for text input. We also offer remote controls.
